DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – St. Thomas sophomore Alexandria Vanderpool was chosen as The Sun Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week on Jan. 18. Vanterpool earned her first such honor of the season after leading the Bobcats to a 2-0 record during the week ending Jan. 17, averaging 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals per game.

 The 6-0 forward began the week with 23 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes against Southeastern in non-conference play. She was 9-of-11 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free throw line and had one block in the Bobcats’ 81-38 win. 

St. Thomas’ second victory of the week was a 59-51 road win against Webber International. Vanterpool shot 50 percent (6-of-12) to finish with 12 points, six rebounds two steals and a block.
