BABSON PARK, Fla. - On Saturday November 21, 2009, redshirt junior Juline Brice will represent the Green and Gold as the lone Warrior participating in the NAIA National Cross Country Championships. This marks the 30th running of the women’s national championships, which is in its first year at the Fort Vancouver historical site in Vancouver, Washington. The championships are presented by Nike and co-hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University (Ore.).
Brice qualified for the national championship by winning The Sun Conference cross country championships for the second time in three years, on November 7th. In doing so, was named to the all conference team for the third time, while picking up her second The Sun Conference runner of the year honor.
This will mark Brice’s third appearance at the national championships. In her previous two trips, she ran to finishes of 187th and 87th place, while clocking times of 20:18.05 and 19:03, respectively. Going into this weekend’s meet, Brice’s season best (which doubles as the new school record) sits at 18:23, which she ran at the Hatter Invitational in Deland, Fla. on October 16, 2009.
“I am extremely proud of Juline” stated head coach Terrell Griffin. “I think the sky is the limit to what she can achieve at nationals.”
The women’s race begins at 11:45AM (PST) and results can be found at naia.org.
