LAKELAND, Fla.--Southeastern University tied an NAIA record, Thursday afternoon, scoring 24 runs in the first inning versus Valley Forge Christian College as the Fire won, 27-0, at Ted Broer Stadium.

Southeastern tied a 21 year old NAIA mark for most runs ever scored in an inning. The record had originally been set by Kansas Newman back in 1989 versus Marymount College.

Southeastern first baseman Kyle Petrick also set a school mark with seven RBIs in the inning.

Petrick hit a three-run homer to start his day and then added two two-run doubles later in the inning. Petrick also had seven RBIs in two games, Wednesday, in a doubleheader versus Cincinnati Christian University.

Armando Alvarez, Tyler Ruehlman, Auburn Donaldson, Gabby Ruffino, and Josh Estridge all had two hits apiece.

The Fire pounded out a season-high 24 hits in the game.

Estridge, who hit nine home runs as a freshman back in 2008, hit his first home run of the season and finished with three RBIs.

Tyler Langford, Brandon Floyd, Brian Sparrow, and Alvarez all had two RBIs apiece.

Donaldson stole a base in the first inning to push his stolen base total to 18 on the year, which leads the Sun Conference.

Nate Young earned the victory on the hill, pitching a complete game and allowing just three hits while striking out a season-high nine batters.
