Sun Conference Athletics

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Just four days after winning the 2010 Sun Conference tournament title, the women’s basketball team from St. Thomas (22-8) learned who they will face in the opening round of the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. The Lady Bobcats are making their first trip to the national tournament and will take on the College of the Ozarks at 3:30 p.m. (CST) on Mar. 10.

St. Thomas drew the No. 2 seed in The Sun Conference tournament and after besting Johnson & Wales and Florida Memorial in the first two rounds, the Lady Bobcats upended top-seeded Northwood 65-60 in the championship game to claim the program’s first conference tournament crown.

The women’s basketball national championship will take place Mar. 10-16 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
