Florida Memorial Men’s Baseball Team
OPA LOCKA, Fla. -- The Florida Memorial baseball team is heading to the 2010 Sun Conference Baseball Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida. The tournament will be played at City of Palms Park May 8 -12, 2010 and the Lions will face Embry-Riddle in the first round of play.
The Lions were picked to finish ninth in the pre-season poll but after finishing the season on a 6-3 run in conference play, they will be the # 6 seed in the tournament. The Lions were 7-33 baseball season in 2009, but were able to outscore their opponents 53-46 in the last nine games of 2010 and ended the season with an 18-29 overall record and 12- 15 conference record. This will be the first time in 18 years that Florida Memorial’s baseball team will play in the post season.
