2010 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll Announced

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Conference has released the 2010 men's soccer preseason poll and the Embry-Riddle Eagles have been selected to repeat as Sun Conference champions. The poll was voted on by the men's soccer coaches of The Sun Conference.

ERAU went 7-0-2 in 2009, capturing their sixth conference title in program history, before advancing to the elite eight at the 2009 NAIA National Tournament. The Eagles tallied 97 total points in the preseason poll, including seven first-place votes.

Savannah College of Art and Design tallied the remaining three first-place votes and 91 points overall as the Bees are picked to finish second in 2010. SCAD was 7-1-1 last season, and advanced to The Sun Conference tournament championship game against Embry-Riddle before bowing out on penalty kicks to end their season.

Northwood (74) checks in at No. 3; the Seahawks were 6-3 in conference play last season while finishing fifth overall. St. Thomas (69) and Warner (54) round out the top five. The Bobcats (6-2-1) finished fourth in The Sun Conference in 2009, while the Royals (6-2-1) finished third.

Florida Memorial (47) and Webber International (42) look to improve on their seventh and eighth-place finishes respectively from last season. The Lions were 2-6-1 during the conference schedule while the Warriors finished 4-5.

Ave Maria (29), Southeastern (24) and Johnson & Wales (23) are picked to finish eighth, ninth and 10th in 2010. The Gyrenes and Wildcats went 2-7 last season, while the Fire finished 0-9.
