CLEVELAND, Ga. – Ellert Hreinsson scored two goals for the second consecutive match as the SCAD Savannah men’s soccer team recorded a 2-1 non-conference victory over Truett-McConnell College Friday (Aug. 27) afternoon.

The Bees improved to 2-0-0 and they will continue their season-opening five-match road trip Monday (Aug. 30) when they travel to Milligan College, Tenn., for a 6 p.m. encounter at Milligan College. The Bears evened their record at 1-1-0.

Hreinsson, a 6-foot-5 senior forward from Kopavogur, Iceland, gave the Bees a 1-0 lead in the first half after a Jean Morana assist. Hreinsson helped the Bees to a 2-0 lead in the second half as he scored his fourth goal of 2010 off an assist from Jose Izurieta-Herrera.

Hreinsson became the all-time scorer at SCAD with 87 points, passing Matt Engele (2004-07), who had 84 during his career (2004-07). Hreinsson also tied John Attridge (1998-2001) atop the all-time goal scoring list at SCAD with 36.
