2018-19 All-Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Teams Announced

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2019) – The 2018-19 All-Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Teams were announced on Wednesday as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches. This year’s teams feature 10 first-team selections and 10 second-team honorees. 
 
Overall, nine different schools placed at least one player among the group of 20 that make up the first- and second-team all-conference units. This year’s teams are comprised of six seniors, four juniors, three sophomores, and one freshman.
 
Southeastern led all teams with five all-conference honorees, including first-team selections Makenzie Cann and Elsa Paulsson-Glantz. Coastal Georgia had three all-conference honorees led by first-teamer Brianna Gipson. Samara Auguste and Ebony Griffin from St. Thomas were named to the first team along with Kanesha and Brianna Battle from Florida Memorial. Ave Maria’s Sarah Miller, Johnson & Wales’ Tianna Ayulo and Keiser’s Donivan Dyson round out this year’s first team.
 
The Sun Conference Specialty Awards for Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Champion of Character will be announced Thursday.
 
The semifinals of the 2019 Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Championship presented by Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club will take place on Friday, February 22, from the Furnace in Lakeland, Florida. Semifinal number one, featuring the top-seeded Southeastern Fire versus Florida Memorial will begin at 5:00 p.m. Game two, featuring second-seeded St. Thomas versus Coastal Georgia is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
